A recent complaint that was originally a he said / she said problem, has been thoroughly investigated and found to be a valid no pay complaint . New information posted 6.17.19
Smaller shop BettheLine.ag started in 2017 and they have worked with OSGA through several smaller issues.
Complaint Notes: Recently, we received a complaint from a player who claims that after he won several hundred dollars his account as closed and his initial deposit of $135 returned.
Sportsbook: We checked with BettheLine who got back to us quickly, saying the player charged back his initial deposit.
After 20 plus years of handling complaints, this seems very odd to us. Why would a player who is ahead of his sportsbook charge back?
Player: The player insists that he did not charge back. BettheLine is standing fast that the player charged back.
We are digging for more on this case and have requested more information form both parties. We are currently working with both parties to come to an acceptable resolution . . . or the truth!
April 10 Update:
OSGA did a ton of digging on this case as the player still insisted he did not charge back. We were able to find the processing company that handled the deposit transaction and the subsequent refund. After several attempt to contact the processor, we finally got a response. We were told that they ” made a refund for each customer that made a Payment to this Company (BettheLine).”
We have reached out to BettheLine with this new information and await a response.
April 28 Update:
We have attempted to contact BettheLine several times via email. So far they have not responded and seem to be ignoring our emails. Looks like they are trying to use their credit card processor as a scapegoat for not paying a winning player. We will update with a resolution or Bat Bet alert on BettheLine.
June 3 Update:
After multiple emails to BettheLine, they finally contacted us saying that they wanted the proof from the payment processor that the player did not charge back and was instead refunded. We forwarded the email from the payment company to BettheLine proving that the player did not charge back.
June 17 Update:
We again contacted BettheLine and urged them to pay the customer, as they had all of the proof they needed that the player did not charge back. No response yet.
