OddsMaker.ag has been around for more than a decade and over that time has employed several different methods to keep player funds after the end of the football season and/or March Madness. In 2015, OddsMaker used the ‘Sharp Player’ rule to confiscate winning players’ funds after Super Bowl. And prior to that they used a rule about taking a bonus, but not a promotion that was sent via email, to steal from a player.

Complaint Notes: Recently, we heard from two players who both claimed that OddsMaker had closed their accounts and confiscated their funds. Both players had won more than $5,000 and both were given the exact same reason – their account had gone “dormant”. Both players played throughout the season and one even made a withdrawal from the account in December of 2018.

Sportsbook: We checked with OddsMaker who had refused to address previous ‘no-pay’ complaints. This time they did get back to us and their customers!

Though it has been revised since our initial inquiry, this is the Rule that OddsMaker thought they could use to confiscate winning player’s funds:
“Dormant or Inactive Accounts: If no deposit transaction has been recorded on your Account for twelve months or more(whether you log in or not and actively placing wagers), then your Account is deemed dormant. We will limit your withdrawal to a maximum of $500 per transaction and we reserve the right to close your account.”

So, it looks like OddsMaker either wants winning players to withdraw and redeposit, which is silly because it uses up processing resources, or more likely, they created this rule as another means to confiscate winning player balances.

Players: Both players played throughout 2018 and won decent sums of money. Both players were up for most of the year and thus did not deposit.

Outcome: We contacted OddsMaker and pointed out how this rule makes no sense and looks like it was created to give them a license to steal from winning players, really any player. This time OddsMaker did review our inquiry. We pointed out that this rule was created during the NFL season, that these players were never notified and confiscating their balances was outright thievery.

Surprisingly, OddsMaker did contact both players and did work this out with them. One player was allowed to withdraw and continue to play. The other is getting the $500 per transaction payouts. Unfortunately, with over ten thousand in the account, he will likely won’t be paid in full out until 2021.
