We were contacted by a player who had requested a withdrawal from 5Dimes, but was having trouble collecting. He stated that he used Bitcoin as his deposit and withdrawal method to remain anonymous.

Complaint Notes: The player mentioned in his complaint that he requested a payout after meeting his rollover requirements. 5Dimes asked him to complete the data based authentication part of their BTC payout procedure, which he did. But then, they asked for a copy of his ID. The player thinks that 5Dimes has plenty of information to pay him out and he should be able to remain anonymous.

Sportsbook: We checked with 5Dimes, despite knowing that players must submit an ID 95% of the time to receive their first payout from an online sportsbook.  They let us know that they tried to reach out to the player, but the phone number listed on the account was not valid. 5Dimes also gave us two very important details in their rules (and the rules at most sportsbooks).
1) All accounts must have a correct contact phone number listed in their account information on the date(s) of all deposits.
2) Management reserves the right to request for identity and/or address verification or any other identity proof of an account holder

Outcome: Unfortunately, the offshore operators have no idea if the person playing is really that person when depositing using an anonymous method like Bitcoin. Most every reputable place asks for an ID to verify that the player is who he claims to be. Gamblers from flat out scammers to the sharpest wiseguys all want to stay anonymous, but that is nearly impossible offshore anymore and certainly will not be something that licensed and regulated sportsbooks in the U.S. will tolerate.

This player refuses to send his ID, so he will not be paid. still, 5Dimes has left the door open if he wants to send in the ID, update the phone number on the account and get paid.
